The creativity and genius of an artist must not end with the passage of their time with us on Earth. Jonathan was gifted in many disciplines; most notably through his work as a dancer and choreographer. Below are two funds that have been set up in Jonathan's honor. We give deep thanks and appreciation to anyone who can make a donation to honor his life and art.
The Jonathan Phelps Endowment for the Arts
It is our greatest wish to preserve Jonathan's name and art forever. An Endowment for the Arts in his honor will be created under the supervision of WALKERDANCE which operates under a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization. With this endowment Jonathan will continue to contribute to artistic achievements through the legacy of his artistry.
A scholarship will be made every year as is possible to organizations such as the Jazz and Musical Theatre Program at Jacob's Pillow, among others.
These scholarships will be awarded to recipients for artistic excellence in Jazz Dance and Musical Theatre Arts.
